Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Interdisciplinary Insights for Care of the Seriously Ill

December 7, 2023

This event is a unique opportunity to delve into the latest advancements in psychedelic therapies and the intersections of palliative care. Our expert panel will provide valuable insights, share their experiences, and engage in thought-provoking conversations about this evolving field. Join us as we explore the forefront of psychedelic research and its transformative potential in serious illness care. Clinical trials using psilocybin and MDMA assisted psychotherapy models for people with Cancer Related Anxiety, Depression, and Existential Distress, as well as a number of general mental health indications, have shown promising, arguably, exciting results in a collection of Phase II and Phase III trials such that DEA rescheduling and FDA approval are expected as soon as 2024. In addition, off-label use of ketamine (at psychedelic doses) with therapy have proliferated for a variety of indications including in the palliative care and end of life domains. Learners will self-report increased knowledge for future practice application surrounding the current progress in the therapeutic models of psychedelic-assisted therapies in Palliative and Hospice Care.
